RRB Section Controller 2025 – Who Can Apply.

Before applying, you must make sure you meet all the rules set by RRB. These include your education, age limit, and medical fitness.

Educational Qualification.

• You must have a graduation degree from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification.

• Important Note: If you are waiting for your final year results, you cannot apply. You must get your degree before the last date to apply, which is 14.10.2025

Experience.

• The official notice says no work experience is needed for the Section Controller post. Fresh graduates can also apply.

Age Limit (as of 01.01.2026 .

• Candidates must be between 20 to 33 years old. 

• RRB gives age relaxation for reserved categories as per government rules:

• SC/ST: 5 years

Health Requirement.

Stage 1: One-stage Computer Based Test (CBT)  

•  Time: 120 minutes

•    Marks: 1 mark for each right answer

1. Analytical and Math Skills (60 Questions): Includes Number System, Ratios, Averages, Percentages, Profit & Loss, Time, Speed, Distance, Algebra, Geometry, Probability, and Statistics.
2. Logical Skills (20 Questions): Includes Binary Logic, Syllogism, Clocks & Calendars, Blood Relations, and Reading Comprehension.
3. Mental Reasoning (20 Questions): Includes Analogy, Series, Coding-Decoding, Ranking, and Arrangements.

Stage 2: Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)

This is the first and most important step. How well you do here will decide if you go to the next stage.

Candidates who pass the CBT will be selected for the CBAT. Around 8 times more candidates than the total number of vacancies will be called.

• This test checks your thinking ability, like how fast you understand, how well you focus, and how clearly you see things.
• You must get at least a T-Score of 42 in each part of the test to pass. No relaxation is given in this score. 
• The final selection list will be made by giving 70% weight to CBT marks and 30% to CBAT marks.
