Pay/Allowance
|
|
- The starting
total salary of a Sub Lieutenant is around Rs 1,25,000 per month,
along with other applicable allowances.
- Candidates will
receive a Pilot/NAOO allowance of Rs 31,250 after successfully finishing
the training.
- Candidates will
also get a Submarine allowance of Rs 31,250 after completing the
training successfully.
- The Submarine
allowance will be given to candidates after they finish submarine training,
following the current rules.

Selection Procedure
|
|
- Applications
will be shortlisted based on the normalized marks candidates have in their
qualifying degree. The normalization method is explained on the Join Indian
Navy website (URL: https://www.joinindiannavy.gov.in/files/normalisation.pdf).
- For BE/B.Tech
candidates who have finished or are in their final year, marks up to the
fifth semester will be used for shortlisting for the SSB interview.
- For candidates
with postgraduate degrees (MSc, MCA, MBA, M.Tech), all semester marks
will be considered if completed. If still studying, shortlisting will be
based on marks up to the pre-final year.
- Candidates who
make the final merit list must provide proof of completing their qualifying
degree with at least 60% marks by emailing officer@navy.gov.in. Those who do
not meet this requirement will not be allowed to join the Academy.
- Shortlisted
candidates will be notified about their SSB interview selection via email or
SMS (the contact details given in their application). Candidates should not
change their email or phone number until the selection process finishes and
should regularly check their inbox and spam folder.
- Requests to
change the SSB interview center will not be accepted under any condition.
- Any requests to
change SSB dates must be sent to the call-up officer of the respective SSB
after receiving the call-up letter. Candidates should download the call-up
letter once they get a message or email from Naval Headquarters (using the
contact details provided in the application).
- No compensation
will be given if a candidate gets injured during any tests in the SSB
interview.
- AC 3-tier train
fare will be reimbursed for candidates attending the SSB interview for the
first time for a specific type of commission. Candidates must bring a
photocopy of the first page of their passbook or cheque leaf showing their
name, account number, and IFSC code when going for the SSB.
- The merit list
will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the SSB for all entries,
depending on the available vacancies and medical clearance. Candidates who
pass the medical exam will be appointed according to the number of vacancies
in the entry.

Application Process

|
- Candidates must
register and complete the application on the Indian Navy website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in.
To save time during the application period, candidates can enter their
details and upload documents beforehand.
- While filling
out the online application, it is recommended to keep all necessary documents
handy to ensure: Accurate entry of personal information, exactly as shown in
the Matriculation Certificate. Fields like email address and mobile number
are mandatory and must be filled.
- All required
documents (preferably originals), including mark sheets up to the 5th and
7th semester for regular and integrated BE/B.Tech courses
respectively, and all semesters for other degrees, date of birth proof (from 10th
and 12th certificates), CGPA conversion formula for BE/B.Tech,
Merchant Navy certificate from the Government of India’s Ministry of Shipping
and Transport, NCC 'C' certificate from National Cadet Corps, and a
recent colored passport-size photograph should be scanned in original
JPG/TIFF format for uploading during the application.
- If any scanned
document is unclear or unreadable for any reason, the application will be
rejected. Candidates should print the completed application and bring it to
the SSB interview.
