Required Qualifications
|
|
- Educational Qualification: Applicants should hold at
least a three-year Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
from a State Technical Education Board or a government-recognized University
or Institute. Those with a higher qualification (Degree in
Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) from a recognized institution are also eligible.
- Essential Requirement: According to Rule 17 of the
Punjab Civil Services (General and Common Conditions of Service) Rules, 1994,
candidates must have passed the Matric exam with Punjabi as a compulsory or
elective subject, or an equivalent exam in the Punjabi language.
- Preferred Qualification: A higher degree in the
relevant field (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering) is considered an
added advantage.
- Experience: The notification does not mention any
required experience.
- Special Note for Advertisement 15/2025:
Candidates who previously applied under the Local Government Department's
notification dated 01-07-2015 and paid the fee (as per the Hon'ble
High Court's order in Civil Writ Petition 659 of 2018) will receive
age relaxation. They will not need to pay the fee again for this post.

- Maximum Age for Ex-Servicemen of Punjab: As per
Punjab Ex-Servicemen Recruitment Rules, 1982 with updates. The age limit is
calculated by subtracting the service period in the armed forces. If the
remaining age after this does not exceed 3 years above the usual limit, the
candidate is eligible.
- Maximum Age for Physically Disabled Candidates of
Punjab: 47 years (10 years relaxation)
- Age Relaxation for Women: Widows, divorced women,
and certain other married women categories will get age relaxation up to 40
years as per Punjab Government letter No. 1/50/83-5PP(1368)/3454 dated
23/04/1984
- Special Note for Advertisement 15/2025: Candidates
who applied in the advertisement dated 01-07-2015 and paid fees successfully
will get age relaxation as per the High Court order in Civil Writ Petition
659 of 2018.

Process of Selection
|
|
- Written Exam: Candidates who complete the online
application successfully will be invited to take an Objective Type Multiple
Choice Question (MCQ) written test.
- Merit List: A merit list will be created based on
the marks scored in the written exam.
- Tie-Breaking: If two or more candidates have the
same score:
- First preference goes to the older candidate (by
birthdate).
- Next preference goes to the candidate with a
higher percentage in the required qualification. If still tied, the candidate with higher marks in
Matriculation will be preferred.
- Document Check/Counseling: Candidates will be called
for document verification and counseling according to the merit list. The
number of candidates called depends on the vacancies in each category decided
by the Board or authorized body.
- Final Selection: Only candidates who pass document
verification and meet eligibility will be recommended for appointment based
on available posts.
- Important: Applying online, taking the exam, making
the merit list, or attending counseling does not guarantee selection. Final
appointment depends on full eligibility checks and vacancy availability.

- Punjab Domicile Required: Only Punjab residents
can get reservation benefits. A valid Domicile/Residence Certificate (not
older than 5 years) must be shown at counseling.
- Category Certificates: SC/BC/Ex-Servicemen/PWD/EWS
certificates should follow Punjab Government rules.
- Category Code Choice: Candidates must carefully
pick their category and code in the online form, as it cannot be changed
later.
- Ex-Servicemen Preference: ESM (Self) candidates
are given first priority. If none, then ESM (Dependent) candidates will be
considered.
- - Women Reservation: Recruitment follows Punjab
Civil Services rules for women’s reservation as per 2020 notification.
- Document Upload: Candidates must upload all
required certificates as a single PDF file during online application.
- No Personal Messages: All recruitment updates will
be published only on the Board’s website; no individual messages will be
sent.
- No Travel Allowance: No TA or DA will be given for
attending exams or counseling.
- Board’s Rights: The Board can change, cancel, or
adjust vacancies or category distribution anytime during recruitment.
- Final Decision: The Board’s or its Committee’s decision
will be final and binding for all candidates.

payment is confirmed (wait 2 days), download and print the form for your
records
- Step 10 - No Correction After Submission: Once
submitted, you cannot make any changes. So, fill the form carefully
- Important Note: It is better if you apply yourself
without using cyber cafes to avoid mistakes. Self-application is suggested
- Step 1 - Visit Official Website: Go to the official

- Step 2 - Click on Online Applications: Find and
click on the “Online Applications” link on the website
- Step 3 - Select Post: For Advertisement 16, first
click on the Junior Engineer post, then choose Civil, Mechanical, or
Electrical according to your qualification
- Step 4 - Registration: Carefully fill in your
personal and educational details to register. After registering successfully,
you will get a Username
- Step 5 - Login and Fill Form: Use the Username to
log in and complete the application form step by step
- Step 6 - Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of
your passport size photo, signature, Matriculation certificate (for date of
birth), 12th certificate, Diploma or Degree certificates, and category
certificates if you have any
- Step 7 - Submit Application: After uploading all
documents, submit the full application form. Your form will be accepted only
after you pay the fee successfully
- Step 8 - Fee Payment: After submitting the form
(wait one day), pay the application fee by:
- Going to any State Bank of India branch and paying
via Challan on a working day
