Required Qualifications

 

  • Educational Qualification: Applicants should hold at least a three-year Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from a State Technical Education Board or a government-recognized University or Institute. Those with a higher qualification (Degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) from a recognized institution are also eligible.
 
  • Essential Requirement: According to Rule 17 of the Punjab Civil Services (General and Common Conditions of Service) Rules, 1994, candidates must have passed the Matric exam with Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject, or an equivalent exam in the Punjabi language.
 
  • Preferred Qualification: A higher degree in the relevant field (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering) is considered an added advantage.
 
  • Experience: The notification does not mention any required experience.

Process of Selection

 

  • Written Exam: Candidates who complete the online application successfully will be invited to take an Objective Type Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) written test. 

  1. Merit List: A merit list will be created based on the marks scored in the written exam. 
  2. Tie-Breaking: If two or more candidates have the same score: 
  3. First preference goes to the older candidate (by birthdate). 
  4. Next preference goes to the candidate with a higher percentage in the required qualification.  If still tied, the candidate with higher marks in Matriculation will be preferred. 

  • Document Check/Counseling: Candidates will be called for document verification and counseling according to the merit list. The number of candidates called depends on the vacancies in each category decided by the Board or authorized body. 
  • Final Selection: Only candidates who pass document verification and meet eligibility will be recommended for appointment based on available posts. 
  • Important: Applying online, taking the exam, making the merit list, or attending counseling does not guarantee selection. Final appointment depends on full eligibility checks and vacancy availability.

 

General Information / Instructions

 

  • Punjab Domicile Required: Only Punjab residents can get reservation benefits. A valid Domicile/Residence Certificate (not older than 5 years) must be shown at counseling.
  • Category Certificates: SC/BC/Ex-Servicemen/PWD/EWS certificates should follow Punjab Government rules.
