are waiting for their final exam results are not
eligible to apply.
- Diploma or
Degree in Engineering will not be considered as

Important Medical Instructions:

Hours. Important Points Regarding Fee:
- The fee refund
(after deducting bank charges) will be transferred only to the bank account
linked with Aadhaar.
- No refund will
be given for incomplete or rejected applications, or to candidates who do not
appear in the CBT.
- Applications
submitted without the required fee will be rejected immediately.
- Minorities
include Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, and Zoroastrians
(Parsis). They must provide an affidavit during Document Verification (DV).
- EBC
(Economically Backward Class) means family income less than Rs. 50,000
per year. A valid EBC certificate, BPL card, or Izzat MST is required as
proof.
- EBC, EWS, and
OBC are three separate categories. EBC candidates are eligible only for fee

process includes four consecutive stages:
Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)

Exam Pattern:
The exam will be
objective type with multiple choice questions.
Questions will
be provided in English, Hindi, and 13 regional languages: Assamese, Bengali,
Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi,
Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
Negative
Marking: 1/3 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
The section-wise
number of questions may slightly change in the actual exam.
Minimum Passing Marks:
- PwBD: May
receive up to 2 marks relaxation in case of shortage of candidates.
Syllabus (Indicative):
- Mathematics: Number system, BODMAS, decimals,
fractions, LCM, HCF, ratio and proportion, percentages, mensuration, time and
work, time and distance, simple and compound interest, profit and loss,
algebra, geometry, trigonometry, basic statistics, square root, age problems,
calendar and clock, pipes and cistern.
- General Intelligence & Reasoning: Analogies,
alphabet and number series, coding and decoding, mathematical operations,
relationships, syllogism, jumbling, Venn diagrams, data interpretation and
sufficiency, conclusions and decision making, similarities and differences,
analytical reasoning, classification, directions, statement-arguments and
assumptions.
- General Science: Physics, Chemistry, and Life
Science based on 10th standard level (CBSE pattern).
- General Awareness & Current Affairs: Science
and technology, sports, culture, famous personalities, economics, politics,
and other important topics.
- Normalization: If the CBT is held in multiple
shifts, marks will be normalized.
Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Candidates will
be shortlisted up to three times the total vacancies (may vary) based on CBT
merit.
- PET is
qualifying in nature. It is compulsory to pass, but its marks will not be
added to the final merit list.

Test 1: Lift and carry 35 kg for 100 meters within 2 minutes (single attempt,
without placing it down)

Test 2: Run 1000 meters in 4 minutes 15 seconds (single attempt)
Female Candidates

without placing it down)

Important PET
Instructions:
- The PET has two
parts: first weight carrying and then running (after a short rest gap).
- If a candidate
fails in the weight carrying test, they will be disqualified and will not be
allowed to take the running test.
- In the weight
carrying test, the candidate must lift a sandbag (without handle) from a
bench at waist height and carry it without dropping it.
- Candidates must
ensure they are medically fit for PET. The Railways will not be responsible
for any injury during the test.
Exemption from PET:
- Persons with
Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) – but they must clear the medical examination.
- Course Completed
Act Apprentices (CCAA).
- Pregnant
candidates must submit a self-declaration. If found pregnant, their PET will
be postponed until 6 weeks after delivery, and the vacancy will be kept
reserved.
Stage 3: Document Verification (DV)
- Shortlisting
will be done in a 1:1 ratio with the number of vacancies based on CBT merit
and PET qualification.
- Candidates must
bring original documents for verification.
- No extra time
will be given. If absent, the candidature will be cancelled.
- Certificates
should be in English or Hindi. If not, a translated copy must be provided.
- Candidates must
carry a printed and signed copy of the application form.
Stage 4: Medical Examination (ME)
- The medical test
will be conducted by Railway Medical Authorities.
- Candidates must
meet the required medical fitness standards as per the Indian Railway Medical Manual (IRMM).
- Vision standards
will be strictly checked.
- A medical appeal
is allowed as a final chance on payment of the required fee.
- Candidates
declared medically unfit will not be offered any alternative post.
Final Merit
and Selection
- The final merit
list will be prepared based on CBT marks (after normalization, if
applicable).
- Selection is
subject to qualifying PET, successful DV, and medical fitness.
- Allotment of
post and Railway zone will depend on candidate preference, merit position,
medical fitness, and available vacancies.
- In case of a
tie, the older candidate will be placed higher. If age is also the same,
names will be arranged in alphabetical order (A to Z).
- Selection does
not guarantee appointment. The RRB/RRC only recommends candidates, while the
final appointment is made by the Railway Administration.

Important Rules on Reservation
For OBC-NCL
Candidates
- Must provide an
OBC-NCL certificate issued on or after 01.04.2025 and not later than
02.03.2026.
- The certificate
must be based on the Central OBC list available at the National Commission for Backward Classes
(NCBC) website.
- A
self-declaration (Annexure IIA) confirming non-Creamy Layer status must be
submitted during DV.
- The certificate
should clearly mention that the candidate does not belong to the Creamy Layer
as per the relevant DoPT Office Memorandums.
- Candidates
listed under OBC in the State list but not in the Central list are not
eligible for reservation.
For EWS Candidates
- Should not
belong to SC/ST/OBC-NCL categories.
- Gross annual
family income must be below Rs. 8 lakh for Financial Year 2024-25.
- 5 acres or more
of agricultural land, OR
- A residential
flat of 1000 sq. ft. or more, OR
- A residential
plot of 100 sq. yards or more in notified municipalities, OR
- A residential
plot of 200 sq. yards or more in other areas.
- “Family”
includes the applicant, parents, siblings below 18 years, spouse, and
children below 18 years.
- A valid Income
and Asset Certificate (Annexure III) based on F.Y. 2024-25 income and assets
is required.
For PwBD Candidates
- Minimum 40% benchmark
disability is required to claim reservation or relaxation.
- Disability
certificate must be as per Form V/VI of RPwD Rules 2024 (Annexure V-A/V-B).
- Unique
Disability Identity (UDID) card must be submitted.
- Post suitability
details are provided in Annexure-A.
Eligible Disabilities:
- VI (Visually
Impaired): Blindness (B), Low Vision (LV)
- HI (Hearing
Impaired): Deaf (D), Hard of Hearing (HH)
- LD (Locomotor

- Candidates with
temporary disabilities are not eligible for reservation as per guidelines of
the Department of Empowerment of Persons with
Disabilities (DePwD) OM dated 17.12.2025.
For Ex-Servicemen (ExSM)
- Must have a
valid Ex-Serviceman Certificate issued by the Zila Sainik Board.
- Serving defence
personnel who are expected to retire within one year can also apply.
- Such candidates
must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) with probable discharge date
(Annexure VI-A) at DV.
- Declaration/Undertaking
(Annexure VI) is required during DV.
- ExSM who have
already obtained a civil job using ExSM quota are not eligible for ExSM
reservation again (only age relaxation allowed).
- Separate medical
standards apply as per Para 534 of the Indian
Railway Medical Manual (IRMM).
For CCAA (Railway Establishments)
- Must have
completed Act Apprenticeship on or before 02.03.2026 and appeared in the NCVT
exam.
- National
Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) issued by the National
Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) must be produced during DV.
- 1/3rd of the
marks obtained in the NCVT exam will be added to CBT marks for preparing
merit.
- If adding NCVT
weightage reduces the score, the higher score will be considered.
- Eligible to
apply to any RRB, not only the Railway where training was completed.

General Guidelines for RRB Group D CEN
09/2025
|
Application Rules
- Only one application is allowed per candidate.
Submitting multiple forms will result in rejection of all applications and
ban from future RRB/RRC exams.
- Select only one RRB/Railway Zone. This choice cannot be
changed later.
- Mention your
post preferences within the selected Railway Zone.
- You may choose
limited options, but you will be considered only for the posts you select.
- Post preferences
cannot be modified after final submission.
- Applications
must be submitted online only through
the official RRB websites mentioned in the notification.
Identity Verification
- Candidates are
strongly advised to verify their identity using DigiLocker or Aadhaar while
creating an account.
- A bank account
linked with Aadhaar is required to receive the fee refund.
- Candidates using
other photo identity proofs may face strict checking at different stages.
Account Registration
- If you already
created an account for CEN 2024/2025, use the same login details.
- A valid mobile
number and email ID are compulsory and must remain active throughout the
recruitment process.
- Details entered
during “Create an Account” cannot be changed later.
Application Correction
- Correction
window will be open from 05.03.2026 to 14.03.2026.
- A fee of Rs.
250/- per correction is applicable (non-refundable).
- You can make
multiple corrections except for account details and selected Railway Zone.
- If changing category
from SC/ST to UR/OBC/EWS or from ExSM/Female/PwBD to unreserved, pay the fee
difference (Rs. 250/-) along with correction fee.
- No changes will
be accepted after 14.03.2026.
Live Photograph & Signature
Live Photo:
- Photo must be
taken live during application (no old photos).
- Sit or stand
facing the camera at eye level with face clearly visible and neutral
expression.
- Wear non-white
clothes (preferably dark). Caps, masks, and glasses are not allowed.
- Blurred or
improper photos may lead to rejection.
Signature:
- Must be in
running handwriting using black ink on white paper (scanned copy).
- Do not use
block, capital, or separate letters.
- File format:
JPG/JPEG, size 30–49 KB, minimum 140×60 pixels.
- Signature must
match at all stages (CBT, DV, ME, Appointment).
Scribe Facility (for eligible PwBD candidates)
- Eligible
categories: Blindness, Locomotor Disability (Both Arms), Cerebral Palsy.
- Other candidates
need a certificate from CMO/Civil Surgeon (Annexure V-G).
- PwBD candidates
with less than 40% disability but difficulty in writing must submit
certificate as per Annexure V-E.
- Scribe must
complete One-Time Registration (OTR) at rrbapply.gov.in.
- Candidate must
enter the scribe’s OTR number between 15.03.2026 and 19.03.2026.
- Scribe’s
qualification should be one level below the candidate’s qualification.
- Only one scribe
per candidate, and the scribe cannot be an applicant in the same CEN.
- Extra time
allowed: 20 minutes per hour of exam.
Examination Centers
- Centers will be
allotted based on technical and administrative reasons.
- Candidates may
need to travel to other cities or states.
- No request for
change of exam center, date, or shift will be accepted.
Prohibited Items in Exam Hall
- Mobile phones,
pagers, watches, earphones, Bluetooth devices, microphones, smart bands.
- Calculators,
books, papers, pens, pencils, erasers, pouches, scales, writing pads.
- Belts, handbags,
caps, purses, cameras, water bottles, food items.
- Only the e-call
letter is allowed inside the exam hall.
- Pen will be
provided at the center.
- No storage facility
is available, so avoid bringing valuables.
- Do not apply
henna (mehndi) on hands or feet as it may disturb biometric verification.
Important Warnings
- Candidates found
using unfair practices, impersonation, fake documents, or misconduct will be
permanently banned.
- The provisions
of The Public Examinations (Prevention of
Unfair Means) Act, 2024 will apply.
- Detailed
post-exam checks such as system log review, photo/biometric verification, and
CCTV monitoring will be conducted.
- Be careful of
fraud agents or fake websites. RRB does not appoint any agents or coaching
centers.
- Selection will
be made strictly on merit basis.

How to Apply for RRB Group D CEN 09/2025
|
|
Step 1:
Register an Account (if not already registered)
- Visit the official RRB website mentioned in Para 24.0 of the
notification.
- Click on the “Create an Account” option.
- Complete identity verification using DigiLocker/Aadhaar
(recommended).
- Enter a valid mobile number and email ID (these cannot be
changed later).
- Create your username and password.
Step 2: Complete
the Online Application
- Log in using your registered details.
- Choose only one RRB/Railway Zone (cannot be modified later).
- Fill in personal and educational details.
- Select post preferences within the chosen Railway Zone.
- Choose your exam language (English/Hindi/Regional language).
- Take a live photo using webcam or mobile camera.
- Upload scanned signature (JPG/JPEG, 30–49 KB, black ink, running
handwriting).
- Upload SC/ST certificate if claiming free travel facility.
- Indicate if you require a scribe (if eligible).
- Carefully review all information before proceeding.
Step 3: Make
the Application Fee Payment
- Select payment method: Internet Banking, Debit Card, Credit
Card, or UPI.
- Pay Rs. 500/- (General/EWS/OBC-NCL Male) or Rs. 250/- (SC/ST/PwBD/Female/ExSM/Transgender/Minorities/EBC).
- Pay all applicable service charges.
- Save the payment confirmation receipt.
Step 4: Final
Submission
- After successful payment, your application will be submitted.

Application Correction (if needed)
- Correction period: 05.03.2026 to 14.03.2026.
- Log in and edit details (except account information and chosen
Railway Zone).
- Pay Rs. 250/- for each correction (non-refundable).
- Pay extra fee if changing from reserved to unreserved category.
Step 6: Submit
Scribe Details (if applicable)
- Window: 15.03.2026 to 19.03.2026.
- Enter the scribe’s OTR number.
- Confirm using OTP sent to the scribe’s mobile number.

- EWS certificate (Annexure-III) valid for 2025–26 based on F.Y.
2024–25.
- EBC certificate (Annexure-III A) / BPL card / Izzat MST (if fee
concession claimed).
- Minority affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper (Annexure-IV).
- PwBD certificate (Annexure V-A/V-B) along with UDID card.
- Ex-Serviceman certificate issued by Zila Sainik Board.
- ExSM declaration (Annexure VI).
- ExSM NOC with expected discharge date (Annexure VI-A) if
currently serving.
- CCAA candidates: NAC certificate from the National Council for Vocational Training
(NCVT).
- LASIK declaration (Annexure-VII) for A2/A3 medical posts.
- NOC from employer (if employed in Government service).
- Certificate supporting caste/name change (if name differs from
10th certificate).
- Medical certificates for scribe eligibility (Annexure
V-E/V-F/V-G).
