Qualification Requirements
- Clerk: Must hold a degree from any recognized university. Preference will be given to candidates with a Law degree.
- Peon: Should be able to read and write in Marathi.
- Driver: Must have passed 10th grade, hold a valid LMV driving license, and have at least 3 years of driving experience.
- Steno Lower: Requires a graduation degree along with shorthand skills.
- Steno Higher: Must be a graduate. This requirement can be relaxed for those with at least 5 years of experience as a Lower Grade Stenographer in the High Court or any other Court, Tribunal, Advocate General’s office, or Government Pleader’s office. Preference will be given to those with a Law degree.
Age Criteria (as of 05-01-2026)
- Lower Age Limit: 18 Years
- Upper Age Limit: 38 Years
- Relaxation in age will be given as per the applicable rules.

Method of Selection
- The Selection Committee has the authority to choose a suitable method or multiple methods to shortlist candidates at any stage of the selection process.
- Based on candidates’ performance in the Shorthand Test, Typing Test, and Interview (Viva-voce), a Merit List (Select List) and a Waiting List will be prepared in order of merit. These lists will be published on the official website of the Bombay High Court after the completion of the selection process.
- The Select and Wait Lists will remain valid for two years from the date of publication, unless the Hon’ble Chief Justice approves an extension.
- If any candidate from the Select or Wait List does not join within the time mentioned in the appointment letter, their name will be removed from the respective list without any separate notification.
Application Procedure
- Candidates must submit their applications online only, using the prescribed format available on the Bombay High Court’s official website: https://bombayhighcourt.nic.in. The application link will be active from 11:00 a.m. on 15/12/2025 and will close at 5:00 p.m. on 05/01/2026.
- To avoid last-minute issues, applicants are advised to complete and submit the form well before the deadline.
- Applications will be reviewed through a computerized system. Therefore, candidates should carefully read the instructions mentioned in the advertisement before completing the online form.
- The application form must be filled using a computer and a web browser.
- Applications sent via other methods such as post, hand delivery, or courier will not be accepted.
Guidelines / Directions
- Details filled by the candidate in the online form will be considered final. No request for correction will be accepted later.
- Applications with incomplete or incorrect information will be rejected.
- If any detail provided by the candidate is found false or wrong at any stage, they will be disqualified from the selection process. If already appointed, the candidate may face termination. Hiding important information will be treated similarly.
- No queries will be entertained by the High Court if the candidate fails to view/download/print the Admit Card within the given time. A link for the Admit Card will be made available on the official Bombay High Court website.
- No complaints will be heard if a candidate misses the exam or interview due to delayed communication or any other reason.
- Candidates must attend the test/interview at their own cost and carry the Admit Card along with a valid photo ID such as Aadhaar Card, PAN, Voter ID, Driving License, or Passport.
- Fulfilling the eligibility and submitting the form does not guarantee a call for test/interview or selection.
- The Bombay High Court holds the authority to change the exam type, number of vacancies, selection process, postpone or cancel the exam for any reason.
