Eligibility Requirements
- Flying Branch:
Applicants should have a graduation degree with Physics and Mathematics
studied at 10+2 level or a BE/B.Tech degree.
- Ground Duty
(Technical): Must possess a BE/B.Tech qualification in designated
engineering streams.
- Ground Duty
(Non-Technical): Should have a graduate or postgraduate degree in relevant
areas like Administration, Accounts, Logistics, or Education.

Age Criteria (as on 01-01-2027)
- Flying Branch:
Age should be between 20 to 24 years as on 01 January 2027,
meaning the date of birth must fall between 02 January 2003 and 01
January 2007 (both days included).
- For candidates
with a valid Commercial Pilot License from DGCA (India), the upper age
limit is relaxed to 26 years, i.e., born between 02 January 2001 and
01 January 2007 (inclusive).
- Ground Duty
(Technical/Non-Technical) Branches: Age must be between 20 and 26
years as on 01 January 2027, i.e., candidates should be born
between 02 January 2001 and 01 January 2007 (inclusive).

Pay Structure
- Flying Officer –
Salary as per Defence Pay Matrix: Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500
- Military Service
Pay (MSP): Rs. 15,500
- During the
one-year training period, Flight Cadets will get a fixed monthly stipend of
Rs. 56,100/-
- After
commissioning, various allowances will be provided based on duty nature,
branch, and posting location — such as Flying Allowance, Technical Allowance,
Transport Allowance, Test Pilot/Flight Test Engineer Allowance, and
Risk/Hardship Allowance.

Recruitment Procedure
AFSB Evaluation Process
Stage-I:- Candidates will take the Officer Intelligence Rating Test along with Picture Perception and Discussion Test on the first day.
- This is a qualifying round; only those who clear Stage-I will proceed to the next stages.
- Candidates who qualify will have their documents verified to ensure they meet the eligibility for their chosen branch.
- Those who don’t clear Stage-I or don’t meet the criteria will be sent back on the same day.
Stage-II:
- A
psychological test will be conducted on Day 1 (evening).
- Group
activities and personal interviews will follow over the next five days after
document verification.
For Flying Branch:
- The
Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) will be conducted for candidates
recommended in previous stages.
- CPSS is a
once-in-a-lifetime test. Candidates who have failed CPSS/PABT earlier or were
removed from flying training will not be eligible.
Final Merit List:
- To qualify,
candidates must meet the minimum marks set by the IAF in both the written
exam and AFSB tests.
- The merit list
will be prepared based on combined marks from the written test and AFSB
evaluation.
- The IAF will
decide how and when to share individual results.
- 10% of total
seats are reserved for NCC Air Wing Senior Division 'C' certificate holders
in Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical).
- Final branch
allotment depends on merit, available vacancies, medical status, and
candidate preferences.

Application Procedure
- Having an
Aadhaar Card is necessary for registration.
- Applicants must
be very careful while filling out the online form. If any incorrect
information is found, the application may be rejected at any stage of the
selection process.
- Ensure all
entered information is correct before clicking “Submit,” as details cannot be
edited afterward.
- If more than one
application is submitted using the same Aadhaar number, only the latest one
will be considered for issuing the Admit Card. Fees paid for earlier
applications will not be refunded.
- Once the
application is submitted, no changes will be allowed.
- Before making
payment, double-check all details entered. Edits will not be possible after
completing the “Make Payment” step.
- Be accurate
while entering all information in the online form.
- Steps to Apply
for AFCAT 01/2026:
- Step-I: Register
using your personal and contact details. A User ID and Password will be sent
to your registered email and mobile number. After registering, either click
on “Go to Application” or log in again to access the application form.
- Step-II: Fill in Personal, Contact, Qualification
details, make the required declaration, upload necessary documents (photo and
signature), and pay the application fee online (if applicable).
