Eligibility Requirements

Must be an Indian citizen 

• Should have Domicile or Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) of the State/UT mentioned in the application (except Assam and certain specified categories) 

• Must have passed 10th Class (Matriculation) from a recognized Board or University as of 01-01-2026 

• Candidates with an NCC Certificate may get bonus marks (if applicable)

Age Criteria (as of 01-01-2026)

Minimum Age: 18 Years 

Maximum Age: 23 Years (Applicants should be born between 02-01-2003 and 01-01-2008) 

Age Relaxation Details: 

• SC/ST: 5 years 

• OBC: 3 years 

• Ex-Servicemen: 3 years (after subtracting military service from age) 

• Children/Dependents of 1984 riot victims: 

•   UR/EWS: 5 years 

•   OBC: 8 years 

•   SC/ST: 10 years

Guidelines

• Carefully read the exam notification in both Hindi and English; in case of any disagreement, the English version will be considered final. 

• Submit your online form well before the deadline to avoid last-minute traffic issues on the website. 

• Candidates who haven’t done One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC site (ssc.gov.in) must create a new OTR; the older one from ssc.nic.in is not valid. 

• After setting up the new OTR, candidates can fill out the form. This new OTR will be valid for future exams on the new portal. 

• Applications are provisional; final eligibility will be checked during the Document Verification by CAPFs. Mismatch in documents and claims may lead to rejection. 

• Candidates seeking reservation under SC/ST/OBC/EWS/ESM or any other category must be eligible and hold valid certificates in the required format. 

• SC/ST/OBC applicants who move to another state must decide whether to claim reservation from their original state or apply as General from the new state—this choice is final. 

• If choosing reservation from the original state, candidates must give current and original domicile details and present a valid caste certificate from the origin state.
