Eligibility Requirements |
Educational Qualification- Candidates must have passed the 10th standard (Secondary School Examination) with Mathematics and English from a recognized Board approved by the Government of India, State Governments, or Union Territories.
- Applicants should have studied the local language at least up to the 10th standard from a recognized board. Post-wise local language details are provided in Annexure-III.
- Special rules for local language apply to candidates applying in Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, and Sikkim.

Selection Process |
- Candidates will be shortlisted based on a system-generated merit list.
- The merit list will be prepared using marks obtained in the 10th Standard (Secondary School Examination), converted to a percentage accurate up to 4 decimal places.
- For candidates with grades or points only, subject-wise marks will be calculated using a multiplication factor of 9.5.
- If CGPA is given, marks will be calculated by multiplying the CGPA by 9.5.
- In case of a tie between candidates, priority will be decided based on age (older candidates first), followed by category order: ST trans-woman, ST female, SC trans-woman, SC female, OBC trans-woman, OBC female, EWS trans-woman, EWS female, UR trans-woman, UR female, etc.
- Shortlisted candidates will be notified via SMS and email on their registered mobile number and email address.
- Physical verification of documents will be done by the Divisional/Unit Head of the concerned Division/Unit.
- After successful verification, a system-generated ‘Offer of Provisional Engagement’ will be issued immediately.
- Candidates must complete pre-engagement formalities within 30 days of the provisional offer, including 3 days of basic training and arranging accommodation for BPM posts.
- The final order of engagement will be issued after receiving verification reports from issuing authorities and background reports from the Police Authorities.

General Information / Instructions |
- Each candidate is allowed only one registration. Multiple or duplicate applications are not allowed.
- Candidates do not need to upload any documents except a recent photograph and signature.
- Applications with incomplete information will be rejected.
- All details such as name, date of birth, father’s name, and mother’s name must match exactly with the Class X (SSC) marksheet.
- Applications with blurry or unclear photographs/signatures will be rejected.
- GDS are not regular employees of the Department/Central Government. Their service is governed by GDS (Conduct and Engagement) Rules, 2020.
- GDS are required to work 4 to 5 hours per day.
- GDS cannot work beyond 65 years of age.
- A Sevak should have another source of income besides the government allowances to maintain livelihood.
- Candidates selected as BPM must arrange their own accommodation for running the Branch Post Office.
- The Department reserves the right to modify, cancel, or change the number of posts at any time without giving a reason.
- Candidates dismissed, removed, or compulsorily retired from Government service or GDS in the past are not eligible to apply.
- Persons holding an elective office are not eligible for engagement.
- GDS cannot engage in activities with outside agencies that may harm the Post Office/IPPB.
- Past experience or previous service will not be considered for selection.
- The Department will verify Class X marksheets through API SETU Portal/DigiLocker, if available online.

- The application process has two steps:
- One-Time Registration (OTR)
- Filling the Online Application Form
- Candidates must have their own active email ID and mobile number for registration.
- Once used, the same email and mobile number cannot be used to register another applicant.
- Before One-Time Registration, keep ready:
- Mobile number (for OTP verification)
- Email ID (for OTP verification)
- Board and year of passing Matriculation (10th) exam
- For One-Time Registration, click on "Candidate Login/Register" and then "New Candidate Registration".
- After registration, a registration number will be generated and sent to your registered mobile number and email ID.
- To submit the application, log in using your registration number and password.

- Division selection
- Post preference
- Recent photograph (JPG/JPEG, 30–100 KB, 320×400 pixels recommended)
